Tonelli Releases New Furniture: Dining Tables, Coffee Tables, Mirrors and more.
It's fitting that our first real blog entry relates to new furniture from Tonelli, as this company is rooted in homefrenzy.com history. In the late 90s the founder of the business, Damian Hirst (no, not the Damien Hirst), was searching for modern furniture for his apartment in London when he was captivated by the stunning modern glass furniture designs of the Italian manufacturer Tonelli. The essence of Tonelli's designs is in clean and immaculate cuts of thick glass, bonded almost invisibly using ultra violet light. The geometry and deep colours of the Tonelli glass furniture reminded Damian of his general fascination with glass from an early age, memories like holding a prism in infant school and how magical that was.
A couple of years later, while working at an investment bank during the dot.com boom, Damian recalled how much of that beautiful furniture was buried away in catalogues at the back of the shop and how great it would be to open up all those designs for people to see via an internet store with prices, home delivery and a 30 day return policy so that shoppers would have confidence in the quality. So, that was it, homefrenzy.com was launched and has since enjoyed many years of great service from Tonelli.
We visited with Tonelli in April this year to see their latest products and were (as always) very impressed. Click this link Tonelli News 2009 where you will find new coffee tables, dining tables, storage units and mirrors. If pushed to pick a favourite, it would be the Tavolante dining table. As with their glass, the woodworking was first class and full of Italian flair and was reminiscent of the workmanship one would see on an Italian speedboat cruising down the canals of Venice. Here's a nice picture of the Tavolante, albeit an injustice to the table as seen in the flesh.
